Pamper Your Cat - Entertaining Your Cat

If you have a cat, you know that it loves to play at about 2 in the morning, every morning, right? Well, if you don’t want to join it, there are ways to help him or her expunge all of that energy without leaving the comforts of your own bed!

First, if it’s in your cards, get a puppy! A nice little Terrier mix is perfect! They can chase each other around and practically baby-sit each other for you while you and your family take a 2 or three hour a night nap.

If that’s not in the plans, you can look for toys that the cat can play with "mano a mano," or rather “gato a gato". In other words, think of ways to not stiffen your cat’s natural nocturnal clock, find a way to naturally embrace it.  There are ways to compromise and come to a happy medium. Most importantly, when you begin this task, remember one thing: you are in charge!

There are many great cat toys on the market, today. They are safe and you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg on them. Heck, you may be able to come up with some great toys in your own home, if you look around and get creative.

If you were to look right outside your front door, you would probably see at least one newspaper, right? Well, cats love the sounds and feel of the newspaper. Spread it out on the floor and watch them go bananas!  They’ll be diving on it, hiding in it, rolling on it; they will just eat it up!

Cats also like to play with those plastic grocery bags. If you have a glass cabinet in your house, throw a few up in there and let your cat see it. It will just be a matter of time before he or she is trying to open the doors. Once you help them out they will work like crazy to shuffle them out as fast as they can! They will dive in them and roll around with them. It’s really an amusing sight. Just don’t try to use the bags when they are finished because they are usually shredded!

Pampered cats also enjoy playing with tennis balls. You can bounce them around and they will chase them for hours. Usually, they will catch them and then roll around on the ground with them before batting them all over the ground.

Cats, even older ones, need exercise. If you find fun, creative ways to amuse them, they won’t even notice that they are even exercising! (Just like having kids!) You don’t have to be rich to provide your pampered cat with the things that will make them happy. And by caring for them and pampering them, you will be richly awarded by their love and affection.
