Pamper Your Cat - Keeping A Kitty Warm

When it comes to your cat, you can take care of them, or you can pamper them. Which do you prefer? Which would your cat prefer? A lot of cat owners don’t see that their cats need anything more than fresh food, water and a clean letterbox, while others would walk a mile in knee high snow to get their cat a fresh bag of food!

One of the easiest and most comforting things you can do for a cat is to help it stay warm, especially if it has to suffer in the outdoor elements. Not all cats are lucky enough to be inside, so those that are not need a little extra pampering on those chilly days. For those that are outside, there are a couple of easy measurements to take to keep them warm: provide shelter out of the wind and rain, and even give them a little nesting area filled with blankets or wood chips for insulation. Even if it is for a cat that’s not yours, it is for a great cause!

If your cat is inside, then you probably have noticed that he or she doesn’t even seem to be able to stay warm. They are always wrapped up tightly in a little ball, right? Well, you can quickly warm him or her up with one of your bath towels! Just throw it in the dryer for a few moments to make it nice and toasty, and then gently cover your cat with it. If they prefer, you may want to just let them lie on it or cuddle up inside of it, too.

Your cat most likely likes to sit in front of the nearest window to watch the birds, tight? Well, he or she may or may not voluntarily remove himself or herself when it is cold. They hate to know something is outside, but they just can’t get to it! So, you can do them a favor by providing a warm towel to lie on, or even just a blanket to maintain their own body heat.

If your cat is really pampered, then they probably like to sleep in bed with you, right? Well, if you happen to won an electric blanket, your cat will never leave the bed! Don’t set the blanket too high, but after your bed has been made for the day, your cat might enjoy a little catnap on top of the electric blanket. If you listen closely, you will instantly be able to hear him or her purring at the thought!

It doesn’t take much time or effort to help your cat stay warm. It helps them to age a little easier, too. There’s nothing worse on old muscles and bones than the cold. So, the next time you notice your kitty needs a little warmth, grab the towel or blanket and take a second to help them out!
