Pamper Your Cat - Keeping Your Cat Happy


What do you suppose makes the outside so attractive to your furry feline friend? Well, cats are very sensuous creatures; meaning that they love the smells, sights, sounds and tastes they find outside. If you are not comfortable leaving your cat outside all of the time, you can find ways to keep them happy in the home.

One way to keep him or her entertained is to get another cat, or some other animal. A companion can help to pass the long winter days, or the times when they are home alone. To help feed your cat’s curiosity, you can get a bird, mouse, snake or aquarium full of fish.

Some cats even like to watch TV! If you have a cat, true leaving the channel on a nature show sometime. You would be surprised by how much your cat becomes entranced. If you happen to have a big screen TV, then your cat is one lucky critter!

You can also get your cat a scratching post. Scratching comes naturally to your cat, just like touching is natural to a toddler. There are gauntlets of posts that you can buy to keep your indoor cat happy. They can scratch these posts until they are tired and neither of you will be nervous because of it! Some posts allow your cats to climb very high and others give them a place to crawl inside and hide.

Cats love to roll in grass. If you have a cat and a yard, chances are pretty height that you have a hard time keeping him or her from darting outside. Hopefully, your cat won’t run off and you can let him or enjoy the elements for a little bit. If not, you can always try growing grass in your home.

You can also keep your cat by paying attention to him or her. You cat, whether you realize it or not, craves your attention. They love to be touched, jut on their own terms, for the most part! They sometimes like to play games, like hide and seek, too!

Most cats are amazed by an element known as catnip, too. The plant itself is a member of the mint family and it contains chemicals that really get a cat wound up. Don’t try to give this to your cat before bedtime! You can wind your cat down with a nice massage or manicure before bedtime, too.

When it comes to pampering your cat, there are thousands of things you can do! You don’t have to be the richest cat owner in the world to make your cat really happy. Just pay attention to his or her wants and needs and if you can, accommodate them. You don’t have to create a spoiled kitty, but no one has ever killed a kitty with too much love!
